USAID is an agency located in the US State Department that provides grants for projects "to promote democracy", according to the official legend. In fact, USAID is an agency that has only one task, namely to give the US economy (i.e. the large US corporations) access to foreign markets. This can involve both sales markets and access to natural resources and raw materials. USAID has a billion-dollar budget for this purpose, which it uses to finance NGOs, media, influencers, and so on in the relevant countries so that they report in line with US policy and support US policy. But USAID is also active in the field of US biological weapons programs, even if the US government prefers to talk about "biological security," which USAID is supposedly working on. Denmark has given the Russian energy giant Gazprom the green light to work on the damaged Nord Stream 2 pipeline. A decision that is causing a stir in times of Western sanctions against Russia. This could also be related to Trump's Greenland ambitions. The Danish Energy Agency granted Nord Stream 2 AG, a Gazprom subsidiary, permission to carry out "maintenance work" in the Baltic Sea. Officially, according to a recent report, this involves installing special closures on the open pipe ends to prevent further gas leaks. A perfectly understandable environmental protection argument - were it not for the political implications. Just a few months ago, Copenhagen was one of Moscow's loudest accusers in connection with the explosions that destroyed the pipeline in September 2022. The turnaround comes at a controversial time: Denmark is currently in a diplomatic skirmish with the Trump administration over Greenland's sovereignty. The Danish Energy Agency estimates the remaining amount of gas in the damaged pipeline at around 9-10 million cubic meters. "The work is aimed at preventing further environmental damage," the official statement says. The timing of this rapprochement with Moscow is remarkable. PROTECTING CHILDREN FROM CHEMICAL AND SURGICAL MUTILATION
By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered:
Section 1. Policy and Purpose. Across the country today, medical professionals are maiming and sterilizing a growing number of impressionable children under the radical and false claim that adults can change a child’s sex through a series of irreversible medical interventions. This dangerous trend will be a stain on our Nation’s history, and it must end.
Countless children soon regret that they have been mutilated and begin to grasp the horrifying tragedy that they will never be able to conceive children of their own or nurture their children through breastfeeding. Moreover, these vulnerable youths’ medical bills may rise throughout their lifetimes, as they are often trapped with lifelong medical complications, a losing war with their own bodies, and, tragically, sterilization.
Accordingly, it is the policy of the United States that it will not fund, sponsor, promote, assist, or support the so-called “transition” of a child from one sex to another, and it will rigorously enforce all laws that prohibit or limit these destructive and life-altering procedures.
Sec. 2. Definitions. For the purposes of this order:
(a) The term “child” or “children” means an individual or individuals under 19 years of age.
(b) The term “pediatric” means relating to the medical care of a child.
(c) The phrase “chemical and surgical mutilation” means the use of puberty blockers, including GnRH agonists and other interventions, to delay the onset or progression of normally timed puberty in an individual who does not identify as his or her sex; the use of sex hormones, such as androgen blockers, estrogen, progesterone, or testosterone, to align an individual’s physical appearance with an identity that differs from his or her sex; and surgical procedures that attempt to transform an individual’s physical appearance to align with an identity that differs from his or her sex or that attempt to alter or remove an individual’s sexual organs to minimize or destroy their natural biological functions. This phrase sometimes is referred to as “gender affirming care.”
Sec. 3. Ending Reliance on Junk Science. (a) The blatant harm done to children by chemical and surgical mutilation cloaks itself in medical necessity, spurred by guidance from the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), which lacks scientific integrity. In light of the scientific concerns with the WPATH guidance:
(i) agencies shall rescind or amend all policies that rely on WPATH guidance, including WPATH’s “Standards of Care Version 8”; and
(ii) within 90 days of the date of this order, the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) shall publish a review of the existing literature on best practices for promoting the health of children who assert gender dysphoria, rapid-onset gender dysphoria, or other identity-based confusion.
(b) The Secretary of HHS, as appropriate and consistent with applicable law, shall use all available methods to increase the quality of data to guide practices for improving the health of minors with gender dysphoria, rapid-onset gender dysphoria, or other identity-based confusion, or who otherwise seek chemical or surgical mutilation.
Sec. 4. Defunding Chemical and Surgical Mutilation. The head of each executive department or agency (agency) that provides research or education grants to medical institutions, including medical schools and hospitals, shall, consistent with applicable law and in coordination with the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, immediately take appropriate steps to ensure that institutions receiving Federal research or education grants end the chemical and surgical mutilation of children.
Sec. 5. Additional Directives to the Secretary of HHS. (a) The Secretary of HHS shall, consistent with applicable law, take all appropriate actions to end the chemical and surgical mutilation of children, including regulatory and sub-regulatory actions, which may involve the following laws, programs, issues, or documents:
(i) Medicare or Medicaid conditions of participation or conditions for coverage;
(ii) clinical-abuse or inappropriate-use assessments relevant to State Medicaid programs;
(iii) mandatory drug use reviews;
(iv) section 1557 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act;
(v) quality, safety, and oversight memoranda;
(vi) essential health benefits requirements; and
(vii) the Eleventh Revision of the International Classification of Diseases and other federally funded manuals, including the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition.
(b) The Secretary of HHS shall promptly withdraw HHS’s March 2, 2022, guidance document titled “HHS Notice and Guidance on Gender Affirming Care, Civil Rights and Patient Privacy” and, in consultation with the Attorney General, issue new guidance protecting whistleblowers who take action related to ensuring compliance with this order.
Sec. 6. TRICARE. The Department of Defense provides health insurance, through TRICARE, to nearly 2 million individuals under the age of 18. As appropriate and consistent with applicable law, the Secretary of Defense shall commence a rulemaking or sub-regulatory action to exclude chemical and surgical mutilation of children from TRICARE coverage and amend the TRICARE provider handbook to exclude chemical and surgical mutilation of children.
Sec. 7. Requirements for Insurance Carriers. The Director of the Office of Personnel Management, as appropriate and consistent with applicable law, shall:
(a) include provisions in the Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) and Postal Service Health Benefits (PSHB) programs call letter for the 2026 Plan Year specifying that eligible carriers, including the Foreign Service Benefit Plan, will exclude coverage for pediatric transgender surgeries or hormone treatments; and
(b) negotiate to obtain appropriate corresponding reductions in FEHB and PSHB premiums.
Sec. 8. Directives to the Department of Justice. The Attorney General shall:
(a) review Department of Justice enforcement of section 116 of title 18, United States Code, and prioritize enforcement of protections against female genital mutilation;
(b) convene States’ Attorneys General and other law enforcement officers to coordinate the enforcement of laws against female genital mutilation across all American States and Territories;
(c) prioritize investigations and take appropriate action to end deception of consumers, fraud, and violations of the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act by any entity that may be misleading the public about long-term side effects of chemical and surgical mutilation;
(d) in consultation with the Congress, work to draft, propose, and promote legislation to enact a private right of action for children and the parents of children whose healthy body parts have been damaged by medical professionals practicing chemical and surgical mutilation, which should include a lengthy statute of limitations; and
(e) prioritize investigations and take appropriate action to end child-abusive practices by so-called sanctuary States that facilitate stripping custody from parents who support the healthy development of their own children, including by considering the application of the Parental Kidnapping Prevention Act and recognized constitutional rights.
Sec. 9. Enforcing Adequate Progress. Within 60 days of the date of this order, the heads of agencies with responsibilities under this order shall submit a single, combined report to the Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy, detailing progress in implementing this order and a timeline for future action. The Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy shall regularly convene the heads of agencies with responsibilities under this order (or their designees) to coordinate and prepare for this submission.
Sec. 10. Severability. If any provision of this order, or the application of any provision to any person or circumstances, is held to be invalid, the remainder of this order and the application of any of its other provisions to any other persons or circumstances shall not be affected thereby.
Sec. 11. General Provisions. (a) Nothing in this order shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect:
(i) the authority granted by law to an executive department or agency, or the head thereof; or
(ii) the functions of the Director of the Office of Management and Budget relating to budgetary, administrative, or legislative proposals.
(b) This order shall be implemented consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations.
(c) This order is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.

Sir Chris Whitty has admitted at the UK Covid Inquiry that the decision to make Covid vaccines mandatory was “100% political.” His admission contradicts the government’s previous claim of “following the science.” This political decision resulted in no informed consent, care home workers being fired for refusing vaccination and proposals for “vaccine passports” being considered. While most Americans were hooked on the 2020 electoral battle between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, Washington’s biggest “dark money” network was quietly funneling tens of millions of dollars into races meant to flip the Republican-held Senate and advance the left’s permanent transformation of America.
Meet Arabella Advisors, the Beltway’s best-kept secret. Arabella Advisors is a for-profit consulting firm founded by former Clinton administration staffer Eric Kessler, who started his career as an environmental activist for the League of Conservation Voters. The firm controls four nonprofits (the “sisters”) with vague names and a common address: the 501(c)(3) New Venture Fund, Hopewell Fund, and Windward Fund, and the Sixteen Thirty Fund, Arabella’s 501(c)(4) lobbying shop. Each of these nonprofits pays the company for the privilege of being staffed and led by Arabella folks ($137 million since 2008), and all four are behemoths—bringing in $731 million from difficult-to-trace donors in 2019 alone.
My colleagues and I at the Capital Research Center have studied the Arabella network for over two years. Here’s how it works.
Arabella’s nonprofits act as the left’s premier pass-through funders for professional activists. Big foundations—including the Gates, Buffett, and Ford Foundations—have laundered billions of dollars through this network, washing their identities from the dollars that go to push radical policies on America.
But the real juice from these nonprofits comes from the vast array of “pop-up groups” they run—called so because they consist almost solely of slick websites that may pop into existence one day and pop out the next, usually once the campaign is through. We’ve counted over 350 such front groups pushing everything from federal funding of abortion to overhauling Obamacare to packing the Supreme Court.
Arabella is as dark as “dark money” gets. It’s also the prime example of liberal hypocrisy over anonymous political spending, operating in nearly total obscurity from the mainstream media, liberal dark money hawks like Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), or even the conservative movement, from 2005 until 2019, when the Capital Research Center yanked it into the spotlight.
As more of this massive web of groups—responsible for churning out nearly $2.5 billion since its creation—has come into focus, one thing’s become clear: When a special interest donor goes to Arabella, they’re expecting a political payoff.
Nothing better illustrates this than the network’s spending spree in 2020, when it channeled an unprecedented sum into critical races that handed key Senate seats to the Democrats, passed liberal ballot initiatives in states, and even set up the campaign to make the District of Columbia the 51st state. And all of this was run from Arabella’s plush offices in downtown Washington, D.C....

Und wieviel hat sich in so kurzer Zeit geändert. Vor einem Jahr stand ich hier vor Ihnen, allein, und sprach einige Wahrheiten über den Zustand der westlichen Welt aus, die bei einem Großteil des politischen, wirtschaftlichen und medialen Establishments des Westens auf Überraschung und Erstaunen stießen.
Und ich muss zugeben, dass ich das in gewisser Weise verstehe. Ein Präsident eines Landes, das infolge systematischen wirtschaftlichen Versagens über mehr als 100 Jahre, infolge der schwachen Haltung des Landes in großen globalen Konflikten und infolge unserer Abschottung gegenüber dem Handel im Laufe der Jahre praktisch jede internationale Bedeutung verloren hat.
Ein Präsident eines solchen Landes stand auf dieser Bühne und sagte der ganzen Welt, dass sie falsch lagen, dass sie auf ein Scheitern zusteuerten, dass der Westen vom rechten Weg abgekommen war und dass er umgelenkt werden musste.
Der Präsident dieses Landes, Argentinien, der kein Politiker war, der keine Unterstützung durch das Parlament hatte, keine Unterstützung von Gouverneuren, Wirtschaftsführern oder Mediengruppen. In dieser Rede, hier vor Ihnen, sagte ich Ihnen, dass dies der Beginn eines neuen Argentiniens sei, dass Argentinien viel zu lange vom Sozialismus infiziert gewesen sei und dass es mit uns wieder die Ideen der Freiheit annehmen würde – ein Modell, das wir als Verteidigung des Lebens, der Freiheit und des Privateigentums zusammenfassen.
Und ich sagte Ihnen auch, dass Argentinien in gewisser Weise der „Geist der noch kommenden westlichen Weihnachten“ sei, weil wir bereits alles erlebt hatten, was Sie durchmachten, und wir bereits wussten, wie es enden würde. Ein Jahr später muss ich sagen, dass ich mich nicht mehr so allein fühle.
Ich fühle mich nicht allein, weil die Welt Argentinien umarmt hat. Argentinien ist zu einem globalen Beispiel für fiskalische Verantwortung geworden, für die Verpflichtung, unseren Verpflichtungen nachzukommen, und natürlich für die Verpflichtung, das Inflationsproblem zu lösen.
Außerdem sind wir ein Beispiel für eine neue Art, Politik zu machen, bei der es darum geht, den Menschen die Wahrheit ins Gesicht zu sagen und darauf zu vertrauen, dass sie es verstehen.
Ich fühle mich auch nicht allein, denn im Laufe dieses Jahres habe ich in allen Ecken der Welt Verbündete in diesem Kampf für die Ideen der Freiheit gefunden – vom erstaunlichen Elon Musk bis zu dieser mutigen Italienerin, meiner lieben Giorgia Meloni; von Bukele in El Salvador bis zu Viktor Orbán in Ungarn; von Benjamin Netanjahu in Israel bis zu Donald Trump in den Vereinigten Staaten – langsam bildet sich eine internationale Allianz zwischen all jenen Nationen, die wie unsere frei sein wollen und an die Ideen der Freiheit glauben.
Und langsam beginnt das, was einst wie die absolute globale Hegemonie der aufgeweckten Linken in Politik und Bildungseinrichtungen, in den Medien, in supranationalen Organisationen oder sogar in Foren wie Davos aussah, zu bröckeln. Und ich hoffe, dass die Ideen der Freiheit langsam auftauchen.
Heute bin ich hierhergekommen, um Ihnen zu sagen, dass unser Kampf noch nicht gewonnen ist. Und obwohl die Hoffnung wieder entfacht wurde, ist es unsere moralische Pflicht und unsere historische Verantwortung, das ideologische Gebäude des kränklichen Wokeismus niederzureißen, bis es uns gelungen ist, unsere historische Kathedrale wieder aufzubauen, bis wir sichergestellt haben, dass die Mehrheit der westlichen Länder die Ideen der Freiheit wieder annimmt.
Bis unsere Ideen in den Hallen von Veranstaltungen wie dieser zur gängigen Währung werden, dürfen wir nicht nachlassen. Denn ich muss sagen, dass Foren wie dieses Protagonisten und Förderer der finsteren Agenda des Wokeismus waren, die der westlichen Welt so viel Schaden zufügt.
Wenn wir uns ändern wollen, wenn wir die Rechte der Bürger wirklich verteidigen wollen, müssen wir ihnen zunächst die Wahrheit sagen. Und die Wahrheit ist, dass an den Ideen, die in Foren wie diesem hier propagiert werden, etwas ganz und gar falsch ist. Und ich möchte mir heute ein paar Minuten Zeit nehmen, um einige davon zu diskutieren.
Heute wird kaum jemand leugnen, dass im Westen ein Wind der Veränderung weht. Es gibt diejenigen, die sich dem Wandel widersetzen, diejenigen, die ihn widerwillig akzeptieren, ihn aber dennoch akzeptieren. Es gibt die Neubekehrten, die auftauchen, wenn sie ihn für unvermeidlich halten. Und schließlich gibt es diejenigen unter uns, die ihr ganzes Leben lang für den Wandel gekämpft haben.
Jeder von Ihnen wird wissen, zu welcher Gruppe Sie gehören. Sicherlich gibt es in diesem Auditorium ein bisschen von jedem, aber Sie alle werden sicherlich erkennen, dass die Zeiten des Wandels an unsere Türen klopfen.
Historische Momente des Wandels haben eine einzigartige Eigenschaft. Die Zeiten, in denen Formeln, die jahrzehntelang in Kraft waren, erschöpft sind. Die Methoden, die einst als die einzig richtige Vorgehensweise galten, haben keinen Sinn mehr und was vielen als unumstößliche Wahrheit erschien, wird schließlich in Frage gestellt. Dies sind Zeiten, in denen die Regeln neu geschrieben werden, und daher sind dies Zeiten, in denen diejenigen belohnt werden, die den Mut haben, Risiken einzugehen.
Doch ein Großteil der freien Welt zieht es immer noch vor, sich auf das Vertraute zu verlassen, auch wenn dies der falsche Weg sein könnte. Und sie werden darauf bestehen, die Rezepte des Scheiterns anzuwenden, und die große Last, die den Ländern und Institutionen, die scheitern, gemeinsam ist, ist der mentale Virus der aufgeweckten Ideologie.
Dies ist die große Epidemie unserer Zeit, die geheilt werden muss. Dies ist der Krebs, den wir loswerden müssen. Diese Ideologie hat die wichtigsten Institutionen der Welt kolonisiert – von den politischen Parteien und Regierungen führender westlicher Nationen bis hin zu globalen Regierungsorganisationen, sogar NGOs, Universitäten und Medien.
Sie hat in den letzten Jahrzehnten auch den Ton der globalen Debatte bestimmt. Solange wir diese abscheuliche Ideologie nicht aus unserer Kultur, unseren Institutionen und unseren Gesetzen entfernen, wird die westliche Zivilisation – und sogar die Menschheit – nicht in der Lage sein, auf den Weg des Fortschritts zurückzukehren, den unser Pioniergeist verlangt.
Es ist unerlässlich, diese ideologischen Ketten zu sprengen, wenn wir ein neues goldenes Zeitalter einläuten wollen. Deshalb möchte ich mir heute ein paar Minuten Zeit nehmen, um diese Ketten zu sprengen.
Aber sprechen wir zunächst darüber, wofür wir kämpfen. Der Westen stellt den Höhepunkt menschlicher Errungenschaften auf dem fruchtbaren Boden seines griechisch-römischen Erbes und seiner jüdisch-christlichen Werte dar.
Die Saat für etwas in der Geschichte noch nie Dagewesenes wurde gesät, nachdem der Absolutismus endgültig überwunden war. Der Liberalismus leitete eine neue Ära der menschlichen Existenz ein, und innerhalb des neuen moralischen und philosophischen Rahmens, der die individuelle Freiheit über die Launen der Tyrannen stellte, konnte der Westen die kreative Kapazität des Menschen entfesseln und einen beispiellosen Prozess der Vermögensbildung einleiten.
Die Daten sprechen für sich. Bis zum Jahr 1800 blieb das weltweite BIP pro Kopf praktisch konstant. Ab dem 19. Jahrhundert jedoch und dank der industriellen Revolution verzwanzigfachte sich das BIP pro Kopf und befreite 90 % der Weltbevölkerung aus der Armut, obwohl die Bevölkerung selbst um das Achtfache zunahm.
Und das war nur möglich dank einer Konvergenz grundlegender Werte, Respekt vor Leben, Freiheit und Eigentum, die freien Handel, Redefreiheit, Religionsfreiheit und die anderen Säulen der westlichen Zivilisation ermöglichten.
Hinzu kommt unser erfinderischer, faustischer Entdeckergeist, der ständig die Grenzen des Möglichen austestet, und das ist ein Pioniergeist, der heute unter anderem von meinem lieben Freund Elon Musk repräsentiert wird, der in den letzten Tagen von der Wokismus-Ideologie zu Unrecht für eine unschuldige Geste verteufelt wurde, die einfach nur seine Begeisterung und Dankbarkeit gegenüber den Menschen widerspiegelt.
Zusammenfassend lässt sich sagen, dass wir den Kapitalismus auf der Grundlage von Sparen, Investitionen, Arbeit und Reinvestitionen sowie harter Arbeit erfunden haben. Wir haben jeden Arbeiter dazu gebracht, seine Produktivität zu verzehnfachen oder zu verhundertfachen, oder warum nicht sogar zu vertausendfachen? So überwanden wir die malthusianische Falle. Doch irgendwann im 20. Jahrhundert verloren wir unseren Weg und die liberalen Prinzipien, die uns frei und wohlhabend gemacht hatten, wurden verraten.
Eine neue politische Klasse, die von kollektivistischen Ideologien getrieben wurde und die Krisenzeiten ausnutzte, sah die perfekte Gelegenheit, Macht anzuhäufen. Der gesamte vom Kapitalismus bis dahin und in Zukunft geschaffene Reichtum sollte durch ein System zentraler Planung umverteilt werden, was einen Prozess in Gang setzte, unter dessen katastrophalen Folgen wir heute leiden.
Indem diese neue politische Klasse eine sozialistische Agenda förderte und gleichzeitig heimtückisch innerhalb des liberalen Paradigmas operierte, verzerrte sie die Werte des Liberalismus und ersetzte so Freiheit durch Befreiung, indem sie die Zwangsgewalt des Staates nutzte, um den vom Kapitalismus geschaffenen Reichtum umzuverteilen.
Ihre Rechtfertigung war die finstere, ungerechte und abscheuliche Idee der sozialen Gerechtigkeit, ergänzt durch theoretische marxistische Rahmenbedingungen, die darauf abzielten, Individuen von ihren Bedürfnissen zu befreien. Und im Kern dieses neuen Wertesystems liegt die grundlegende Prämisse, dass Gleichheit vor dem Gesetz nicht ausreicht, da es versteckte systemische Ungerechtigkeiten gibt, die behoben werden müssen, eine Idee, die als Goldmine für Bürokraten dient, die nach Allmacht streben.
Und genau darum geht es beim Wokeismus im Grunde, nämlich um das Ergebnis der Umkehrung westlicher Werte. Jede Säule unserer Zivilisation wurde durch verschiedene Mechanismen kultureller Subversion durch eine verzerrte Version ihrer selbst ersetzt.
Negative Rechte auf Leben, Freiheit und Eigentum wurden in eine künstliche und endlose Liste positiver Rechte umgewandelt. Zuerst ging es um Bildung, dann um Wohnraum und von da an um Absurditäten wie den Zugang zum Internet, zu Fußballübertragungen im Fernsehen, zu Theater, kosmetischen Behandlungen und eine endlose Zahl anderer Wünsche, die zu grundlegenden Menschenrechten erhoben wurden.
Rechte, für die natürlich jemand bezahlen muss und die nur durch die unendliche Expansion des abscheulichen Staates garantiert werden können.
Mit anderen Worten, wir sind vom Konzept der Freiheit als grundlegendem Schutz des Einzelnen vor der Intervention des Tyrannen zum Konzept der Befreiung durch staatliche Intervention übergegangen.
Auf dieser Grundlage wurde der Wokeismus aufgebaut – eine Ideologie monolithischen Denkens, die von verschiedenen Institutionen aufrechterhalten wird, deren Zweck es ist, Andersdenken, Feminismus, Vielfalt, Inklusion, Gleichberechtigung, Einwanderung, Abtreibung, Umweltschutz, Genderideologie und andere zu bestrafen. Dies sind alles verschiedene Köpfe desselben Biests, das darauf abzielt, die Expansion des Staates durch die Aneignung und Verzerrung edler Anliegen zu rechtfertigen.
Schauen wir uns einige davon an. Der radikale Feminismus ist eine Verzerrung des Konzepts der Gleichheit, selbst in seiner wohlwollendsten Form ist er überflüssig – da die Gleichheit vor dem Gesetz im Westen bereits existiert. Alles andere ist ein Streben nach Privilegien, und genau darum geht es dem radikalen Feminismus.
Er bringt die Hälfte der Bevölkerung gegen die andere auf, obwohl beide auf derselben Seite stehen sollten.
Wir sind sogar an einem Punkt angelangt, an dem es normal ist, dass in vielen angeblich zivilisierten Ländern der Mord an einer Frau als Femizid bezeichnet wird. Und das wird strenger bestraft als der Mord an einem Mann, allein aufgrund des Geschlechts des Opfers – wodurch das Leben einer Frau gesetzlich mehr wert ist als das eines Mannes.
Und sie tragen die Fahne der geschlechtsspezifischen Lohnlücke hoch. Aber wenn man sich die Daten ansieht, ist klar, dass es keine Ungleichheit für die gleiche Arbeit gibt, sondern dass die meisten Männer dazu neigen, besser bezahlte Berufe zu wählen als die meisten Frauen.
Sie beschweren sich jedoch nicht darüber, dass die meisten Gefängnisinsassen Männer sind, oder dass die meisten Klempner Männer sind, oder dass die meisten Opfer von Raubüberfällen oder Morden Männer sind – ganz zu schweigen von der Mehrheit der Menschen, die in Kriegen gestorben sind.
Aber wenn Sie diese Punkte in den Medien oder sogar in diesem Forum ansprechen, werden Sie als Frauenfeind angesehen, nur weil Sie ein elementares Prinzip der modernen Demokratie und des Rechtsstaats verteidigen, nämlich die Gleichheit vor dem Gesetz. Und natürlich auch, weil Sie die Daten verteidigen.
Der Wokismus manifestiert sich auch in einem finsteren radikalen Umweltschutz und der Klimaagenda. Die Erhaltung unseres Planeten für zukünftige Generationen ist eine Frage des gesunden Menschenverstands. Niemand möchte auf einer Mülldeponie leben.
Aber wieder einmal hat der Wokeismus es geschafft, diese grundlegende Idee zu pervertieren. Von der Erhaltung der Umwelt zum Vergnügen der Menschen sind wir zu einem fanatischen Umweltschutz übergegangen, in dem wir Menschen als Krebs angesehen werden, den es auszurotten gilt**, und die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung als kaum mehr als ein Verbrechen gegen die Natur betrachtet wird.

Und dennoch werden wir, wenn wir argumentieren, dass die Erde bereits fünf abrupte Temperaturwechselzyklen durchlaufen hat und dass während vier dieser Zyklen der Mensch noch nicht einmal da war, als „Flacherde-Anhänger“ bezeichnet, um unsere Ideen zu diskreditieren, obwohl die Wissenschaft und die Daten auf unserer Seite sind.
Es ist kein Zufall, dass diese gleichen Gruppen die Hauptförderer der blutigen, mörderischen Abtreibungsagenda sind, einer Agenda, die auf der malthusianischen Prämisse basiert, dass Überbevölkerung die Erde zerstören wird und wir daher irgendeine Form der Bevölkerungskontrolle einführen müssen.
Tatsächlich wurde dies so weit getrieben, dass wir heute auf der Erde sehen, dass die Bevölkerungswachstumsrate langsam als Problem erscheint, und darüber sprechen, dass sie mit der Förderung der Abtreibung einen Job gemacht haben.
Und diese Foren fördern die LGBT-Agenda und versuchen, die Idee durchzusetzen, dass Frauen Männer und Männer Frauen sind, einfach basierend auf der Selbstwahrnehmung. Und sie sagen nichts darüber aus, wenn sich ein Mann als Frau verkleidet und seinen Gegner im Boxring tötet, oder wenn ein männlicher Gefängnisinsasse behauptet, eine Frau zu sein und im Gefängnis Frauen sexuell belästigt.
Erst vor wenigen Wochen machte der Fall zweier homosexueller Amerikaner, die sich für sexuelle Vielfalt stark machten, weltweit Schlagzeilen, und wurde zu 100 Jahren Gefängnis verurteilt, weil sie ihre Adoptivkinder über zwei Jahre lang missbraucht und gefilmt hatten.
Ich möchte klarstellen, dass es sich bei dem Wort Missbrauch nicht um eine Umschreibung handelt, denn in ihren extremsten Formen ist die Genderideologie schlichtweg Kindesmissbrauch. Sie sind Pädophile. Ich möchte also wissen, wer ein solches Verhalten unterstützen würde.
Gesunde Kinder werden durch Hormonbehandlungen und Verstümmelung irreversibel geschädigt, als ob ein fünfjähriges Kind so etwas überhaupt zustimmen könnte, und sollte seine Familie nicht zustimmen, wird es immer staatliche Stellen geben, die bereit sind, zugunsten dessen einzugreifen, was sie als das Wohl des Kindes bezeichnen.
Und glauben Sie mir, die skandalösen Experimente im Namen dieser kriminellen Ideologie werden verurteilt und mit jenen verglichen werden, die in den dunkelsten Zeiten unserer Geschichte begangen wurden. Und über diese Vielzahl abscheulicher Praktiken spannt sich die ewige Opfererzählung, die immer bereit ist, Anschuldigungen der Homophobie, Transphobie und anderer erfundener Begriffe zu schleudern, deren einziger Zweck es ist, diejenigen von uns zum Schweigen zu bringen, die es wagen, den Skandal aufzudecken – an dem sowohl nationale als auch internationale Behörden mitschuldig sind.
In unseren Unternehmen, öffentlichen Institutionen und Bildungseinrichtungen wird der Verdienst inzwischen zugunsten der Doktrin der Vielfalt beiseite geschoben, was einen Rückschritt zu den aristokratischen Systemen der Vergangenheit darstellt.
Für jede Minderheit, die Politikern einfällt, werden Quoten erfunden, was letztlich die Exzellenz der Institutionen untergräbt. Der Wokeismus hat auch das Thema Einwanderung verzerrt, der freie Verkehr von Waren und Personen ist eine grundlegende Säule des Liberalismus.
Wir wissen das gut. Argentinien, die Vereinigten Staaten und viele andere Länder wurden dank Einwanderern groß, die ihre Heimat auf der Suche nach neuen Möglichkeiten verließen. Wir sind jedoch von der Anwerbung ausländischer Talente zur Förderung der Entwicklung zu einer Masseneinwanderung übergegangen, die nicht von nationalen Interessen, sondern von Schuldgefühlen getrieben wird.
Da der Westen angeblich die Grundursache für alles Übel der Welt in der Geschichte ist, muss er sich selbst rehabilitieren, indem er seine Grenzen für alle öffnet, was zu einer Form der umgekehrten Kolonisierung führt, die einem kollektiven Selbstmord ähnelt.
So sehen wir heute Bilder von Horden von Einwanderern, die europäische Bürger misshandeln, angreifen oder sogar töten, deren einzige Sünde darin besteht, keiner bestimmten Religion anzugehören.
Aber wenn jemand diese Situationen in Frage stellt, wird er sofort als Rassist, Fremdenfeind oder sogar Nazi abgestempelt.
Der Wokeismus ist, gefördert von Institutionen wie dieser, so tief in unsere Gesellschaften eingedrungen, dass er durch den verheerenden Einfluss der Gender-Ideologie sogar dazu geführt hat, dass das Konzept des biologischen Geschlechts selbst in Frage gestellt wird, was zu noch stärkeren staatlichen Eingriffen durch absurde Gesetzgebung geführt hat – etwa indem der Staat teure Hormonbehandlungen und Operationen finanzieren muss, um das Selbstbild bestimmter Personen zu erfüllen.
Erst jetzt beginnen wir die Auswirkungen einer ganzen Generation zu sehen, die ihren Körper verstümmelt hat, ermutigt durch eine Kultur des sexuellen Relativismus, und diese Menschen werden ihr ganzes Leben in psychiatrischer Behandlung verbringen müssen, um mit dem fertig zu werden, was sie sich selbst angetan haben. Doch niemand wagt es, über diese Probleme zu sprechen. Darüber hinaus ist die große Mehrheit auch der fehlgeleiteten Selbstwahrnehmung einer winzigen Minderheit ausgesetzt.
Und der Wokeismus versucht auch, unsere Zukunft zu kapern, denn indem er die Fakultäten der renommiertesten Universitäten der Welt dominiert, bringt er die Eliten unserer Länder dazu, die Kultur, Ideen und Werte, die uns groß gemacht haben, abzulehnen und zu leugnen, wodurch unser soziales Gefüge weiter geschädigt wird.
Welche Zukunft haben wir, wenn wir unseren jungen Menschen beibringen, sich für unsere Vergangenheit zu schämen? All dies wurde in den letzten Jahrzehnten nach dem Fall der Berliner Mauer ausgebrütet und zunehmend entwickelt.
Seltsamerweise begannen freie Nationen, sich selbst zu zerstören, als sie keine Gegner mehr zu besiegen hatten. Der Frieden machte uns schwach. Wir wurden durch unsere eigene Selbstgefälligkeit besiegt. All diese und andere Verirrungen, die wir aus Zeitgründen nicht aufzählen können, sind die Bedrohungen, die heute den Westen bedrohen.
Und leider sind dies die Überzeugungen, die Institutionen wie diese seit 40 Jahren fördern, und niemand hier kann Unschuld vortäuschen. Seit Jahrzehnten wird eine finstere und mörderische Ideologie verehrt, als wäre sie ein goldenes Kalb, das Himmel und Erde in Bewegung setzt, um sie der Menschheit aufzuzwingen.
Und diese Organisation sowie die einflussreichsten supranationalen Gremien waren die Ideologen dieser Barbarei. Multilaterale Kreditorganisationen waren Instrumente der Erpressung, während viele nationale Regierungen, insbesondere die Europäische Union, als ihr bewaffneter Arm fungierten.
Ist es nicht wahr, dass in diesem Augenblick, in diesem Moment, in Großbritannien Bürger inhaftiert werden, weil sie entsetzliche Verbrechen muslimischer Migranten aufgedeckt haben, Verbrechen, die die Regierung zu vertuschen sucht? Oder haben die Bürokraten in Brüssel nicht die Wahlen in Rumänien ausgesetzt, nur weil ihnen die siegreiche Partei nicht gefiel?
Angesichts jeder dieser Diskussionen besteht die erste Strategie des Wokeismus darin, diejenigen von uns, die diese Dinge in Frage stellen, zu diskreditieren, indem man uns zuerst etikettiert und uns dann zum Schweigen bringt. Wenn Sie weiß sind, müssen Sie ein Rassist sein. Wenn Sie ein Mann sind, müssen Sie ein Frauenfeind oder Teil des Patriarchats sein. Wenn Sie reich sind, müssen Sie ein grausamer Kapitalist sein. Wenn Sie heterosexuell sind, müssen Sie heteronormativ, homophob oder transphob sein.
Für jede Herausforderung haben sie ein Etikett und versuchen dann, Sie mit Gewalt oder rechtlichen Mitteln zu unterdrücken.
Denn hinter der Rhetorik von Vielfalt, Demokratie und Toleranz, die sie so oft predigen, verbirgt sich in Wirklichkeit ihr unverhohlener Wunsch, Dissens, Kritik und letztlich Freiheit zu beseitigen, damit sie weiterhin ein Modell aufrechterhalten können, von dem sie die Hauptnutznießer sind.
Haben wir nicht erst kürzlich gehört, wie bestimmte führende europäische Autoritäten und, wie ich sagen sollte, ziemlich rötliche, tatsächlich offen an die Zensur appelliert haben? Tatsächlich gibt es keine Zensur, sondern diese Idee, dass man diejenigen zum Schweigen bringen muss, die nicht an der aufgeweckten Ideologie teilnehmen.
Und welche Art von Gesellschaft kann der Wokeismus schaffen? Eine Gesellschaft, die den freien Austausch von Waren und Dienstleistungen durch die willkürliche Verteilung von Reichtum mit vorgehaltener Waffe ersetzt. Eine Gesellschaft, die freie Gemeinschaften durch Zwangskollektivierung ersetzt. Eine Gesellschaft, die das kreative Chaos des Marktes durch die sterile und sklerotische Ordnung des Sozialismus ersetzt. Eine Gesellschaft voller Ressentiments, in der es nur zwei Arten von Menschen gibt: die Nettosteuerzahler auf der einen Seite und die Nutznießer des Staates auf der anderen.
Und damit meine ich nicht diejenigen, die Sozialhilfe beziehen, weil sie nicht genug zu essen haben. Ich spreche von den privilegierten Konzernen, den Bankern, die während der Subprime-Krise gerettet wurden, der Mehrheit der Medien, den als Universitäten getarnten Indoktrinationszentren, der staatlichen Bürokratie, den Gewerkschaften, sozialen Organisationen und den Günstlingsunternehmen, die von den Steuern hart arbeitender Menschen und Steuerzahler leben.
Ich spreche von der Welt, die Ayn Rand in „Atlas wirft die Welt ab“ beschreibt und die leider Realität geworden ist. Es ist ein System, in dem der große Gewinner die politische Klasse ist, die sowohl Schiedsrichter als auch Interessenvertreter in diesem Umverteilungsspiel wird.
Ich sage es noch einmal: Die politische Klasse ist Schiedsrichter und Interessenvertreter, eine interessierte Partei in dieser Umverteilung. Natürlich behält derjenige, der umverteilt, den Löwenanteil. Und trotz der kosmetischen Unterschiede zwischen den verschiedenen politischen Parteien haben sie gemeinsame Interessen, Partner, Abmachungen und eine unerschütterliche Verpflichtung, den Status quo aufrechtzuerhalten.
Deshalb nenne ich sie alle die Partei des Staates, ein System, das sich hinter wohlmeinender Rhetorik versteckt, in der behauptet wird, der Markt versage und sie seien diejenigen, die dafür verantwortlich seien, die Versäumnisse durch Vorschriften, Gewalt und Bürokratie zu korrigieren.
Aber so etwas wie Marktversagen gibt es nicht. Marktversagen, das sage ich noch einmal, existiert nicht. Da der Markt ein Mechanismus der sozialen Kooperation ist, bei dem Eigentumsrechte freiwillig ausgetauscht werden, ist das Konzept des Marktversagens an sich ein Widerspruch in sich selbst.
Das einzige, was ein solcher Eingriff bewirkt, ist die Schaffung neuer Verzerrungen innerhalb des Preissystems, was wiederum wirtschaftliche Kalkulation, Ersparnisse und Investitionen behindert – was letztlich zu noch mehr Armut oder einem Geflecht abscheulicher Regulierungen führt, wie es in Europa der Fall ist, was das Wirtschaftswachstum tötet.
Wie ich in meinen Reden oft sage:
Wenn Sie glauben, dass ein Marktversagen vorliegt, gehen Sie hin und prüfen Sie, ob der Staat nicht beteiligt ist. Und wenn Sie feststellen, dass dies nicht der Fall ist, prüfen Sie es noch einmal, denn Sie haben sich geirrt.
Aus demselben Grund bedeutet dies, dass unsere erste und wichtigste Mission – wenn wir wirklich den Fortschritt des Westens zurückgewinnen und ein neues goldenes Zeitalter aufbauen wollen – die drastische Reduzierung der Staatsgröße sein muss, da Wokismus nichts anderes ist als ein systematischer Plan der Staatspartei, staatliche Eingriffe und Erhöhung der öffentlichen Ausgaben zu rechtfertigen.
Nicht nur in jedem unserer Länder, sondern auch die drastische Reduzierung aller supranationalen Organisationen, denn nur so kann dieses perverse System ausgerottet werden, das seine Ressourcen ausbeutet, um den Steuerzahlern zurückzugeben, was ihnen gehört, und dem Verkauf von Gefälligkeiten ein Ende zu bereiten. Es gibt keine bessere Methode, die staatliche Bürokratie zu beenden, als den Verkauf solcher Gefälligkeiten von vornherein zu unterbinden.
Die Funktionen des Staates müssen wieder auf die Verteidigung des Rechts auf Leben, Freiheit und Eigentum beschränkt werden. Jede andere Funktion, die der Staat übernimmt, geht auf Kosten seiner grundlegenden Rolle und führt unweigerlich zum „allgegenwärtigen Leviathan“, unter dem wir heute alle leiden.
Heute erleben wir die globale Erschöpfung dieses Systems, das uns in den letzten Jahrzehnten beherrscht hat. Genau wie in Argentinien erlebt der Rest der Welt die Vertiefung des einzigen wirklich relevanten Konflikts dieses Jahrhunderts und aller vorherigen – des Konflikts zwischen freien Bürgern und der politischen Kaste, die an der etablierten Ordnung festhält und ihre Bemühungen um Zensur, Verfolgung und Zerstörung verdoppelt.
Glücklicherweise organisiert sich in der gesamten freien Welt eine schweigende Mehrheit. Und in jeder Ecke unserer Hemisphäre schallt das Echo dieses Freiheitsschreis. Wir stehen vor einem Epochenwechsel, einer kopernikanischen Wende, der Zerstörung eines Paradigmas und dem Aufbau eines anderen.
Und wenn global einflussreiche Institutionen wie diese ein neues Kapitel aufschlagen und in gutem Glauben an diesem neuen Paradigma teilnehmen möchten, müssen sie Verantwortung für die Rolle übernehmen, die sie in den letzten Jahrzehnten gespielt haben, und der Gesellschaft gegenüber die Mia culpa anerkennen, die von ihnen verlangt wird.
Abschließend möchte ich mich direkt an die führenden Politiker der Welt wenden, an alle, die sowohl Nationalstaaten als auch große Wirtschaftsgruppen und einflussreiche internationale Organisationen führen, ob sie nun heute hier anwesend sind oder von zu Hause aus zuhören.
Die politischen Formeln der letzten Jahrzehnte, auf die ich in dieser Rede Bezug genommen habe, sind gescheitert und brechen nun unter ihrer eigenen Last zusammen. Das bedeutet, dass es nur zu Fehlern führen kann, wenn man so denkt wie alle anderen, wenn man liest, was alle anderen lesen, und wenn man sagt, was alle anderen sagen. Auch wenn viele immer noch darauf bestehen, auf den Abgrund zuzumarschieren.
Das Drehbuch der letzten 40 Jahre ist ausgelaufen, und wenn ein System ausläuft, öffnet sich die Geschichte. Deshalb sage ich allen führenden Politikern der Welt, dass es an der Zeit ist, sich von diesem Drehbuch zu lösen. Es ist an der Zeit, mutig zu sein. Es ist an der Zeit, zu wagen, zu denken und zu wagen, unsere eigenen Verse zu schreiben.
Denn wenn die Ideen und Erzählungen der Gegenwart alle dasselbe sagen – und sie sagen die falschen Dinge –, bedeutet Mut, außerhalb der Zeit zu stehen. Es bedeutet, zurückzublicken, sich nicht vom Vergänglichen blenden zu lassen und das Universelle aus den Augen zu verlieren. Es bedeutet, Wahrheiten zurückzugewinnen, die unseren Vorfahren offensichtlich waren und die den Kern des Erfolgs der westlichen Zivilisation bilden, die das Regime des monolithischen Denkens der letzten Jahrzehnte jedoch verfolgt hat, als wären sie Ketzereien.
Wie Churchill einmal sagte: Je weiter man zurückblicken kann, desto weiter wird man wahrscheinlich nach vorne sehen. Mit anderen Worten, wir müssen uns wieder mit den vergessenen Wahrheiten unserer Vergangenheit verbinden, um die Knoten der Gegenwart zu entwirren und als Zivilisation den nächsten Schritt in Richtung Zukunft zu machen.
Und was sehe ich, wenn ich zurückblicke? Dass wir uns wieder der letzten bewiesenen These des wirtschaftlichen und sozialen Erfolgs anschließen müssen. Dies ist das Modell der Freiheit, das sich wieder den Ideen der Freiheit zuwendet. Zurück zum Libertarismus.
Das ist es, was wir in Argentinien tun. Ich vertraue darauf, dass Präsident Trump dies im neuen Amerika tun wird. Und genau dazu fordern wir alle großen Nationen der freien Welt auf, wenn sie rechtzeitig einen Weg aufhalten wollen, der eindeutig in die Katastrophe führt.
Letztendlich schlage ich also vor, dass wir den Westen heute wieder groß machen. Heute, genau wie vor 215 Jahren, hat Argentinien seine Ketten gesprengt und lädt uns – wie es unsere Nationalhymne verkündet – alle Sterblichen der Welt ein, den heiligen Schrei zu hören: „Freiheit, Freiheit, Freiheit! Mögen die Mächte des Himmels mit uns sein.“

Good morning everyone. And how much has changed in such a short time. A year ago, I stood here before you, alone, and spoke some truths about the state of the Western world that were met with some surprise and astonishment by much of the political, economic and media establishment of the West.
And I must admit that, in a way, I understand it. A president from a country that, as a result of systematic economic failure for more than 100 years, as a result of having the country taken weak stances in major global conflicts, and as a result of us having closed ourselves off to trade, we had lost practically all international significance over the years.
A president of such a country stood on this stage and told the entire world that they were wrong, that they were headed for failure, that the West had gone astray, and that it needed to be redirected.
The president of that country, Argentina, who was not a politician, who had no legislative support, no backing from governors, business leaders or media groups. In that speech, here standing before you, I told you it was the beginning of a new Argentina, that Argentina had been infected with socialism for far too long, and that with us it would once again embrace the ideas of freedom – a model that we summarize as the defence of life, liberty and private property.
And I also told you that in a way, Argentina was the "ghost of Western Christmases yet to come", because we had already experienced everything you were going through, and we already knew how it would end. A year later, I must say that I no longer feel so alone.
I don't feel alone, because the world has embraced Argentina. Argentina has become a global example of fiscal responsibility, of commitment to honouring our obligations and, obviously, a commitment to solve the inflation problem.
Also, we are an example of a new way of doing politics, which is about telling people the truth to their faces and trusting that they will understand.
Nor do I feel alone because over the course of this year, I have found allies in this fight for the ideas of freedom in every corner of the world – from the amazing Elon Musk to that fierce Italian lady, my dear Giorgia Meloni; from Bukele in El Salvador to Viktor Orbán in Hungary; from Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel to Donald Trump in the United States – slowly an international alliance has been forming among all those nations which, like ours, want to be free and believe in the ideas of liberty.
And slowly, what once seemed like the absolute global hegemony of the woke left in politics and educational institutions, in the media, in supranational organizations, or even in forums like Davos, has begun to crumble. And I hope for the ideas of freedom is starting to emerge.
Today I've come here to tell you that our battle is not yet won. And although hope has been rekindled, it is our moral duty and our historical responsibility to dismantle the ideological edifice of sickly wokeism, until we have succeeded in rebuilding our historical cathedral, until we have ensured that the majority of Western countries once again embrace the ideas of liberty.
Until our ideas become the common currency in the halls of events such as this one, we can't let our guard down. Because I must say that forums like this one have been protagonists and promoters of the sinister agenda of wokeism that is doing so much damage to the Western world.
If we want to change, if we truly want to defend the rights of citizens, we must first begin by telling them the truth. And the truth is that there is something badly mistaken about the ideas that have been promoted through forums such as this one. And I would like to take a few minutes today to discuss some of them.
Today, few will deny that winds of change are blowing in the West. There are those who resist change, those who grudgingly accept it, but accept it nonetheless. There are the new converts who appear when they see it as inevitable. And finally, there's those of us who have fought all of our entire lives for change to arrive.
Each one of you will know which group you belong to. Surely there may be a bit of each within this auditorium, but you will all surely recognize that the times of change are knocking on our doors.
Historic moments of change have a unique characteristic. The times when formulas that have been in place for decades become exhausted. The methods once considered the only way of doing things cease to make sense and what, to many, seemed unquestionable truths is finally called into question. These are times when the rules get rewritten, and therefore these are times that reward those who have the courage to take risks.
But much of the free world still prefers the comfort of what is familiar, even though it may be the wrong path. And they will insist on applying the recipes of failure and the great burden that is the common denominator among the countries and institutions that are failing is the mental virus of woke ideology.
This is the great epidemic of our time that must be cured. This is the cancer we need to get rid of. This ideology has colonized the world's most important institutions – from the political parties and governments of leading Western nations to global governance organizations, even NGOs, universities and media outlets.
It has also set the tone of the global conversation over the past decades. Until we remove this abhorrent ideology from our culture, our institutions and our laws, Western civilization – and even the human species – will not be able to return to the path of progress demanded by our pioneering spirit.
It is essential to break these ideological chains if we want to usher in a new golden age. That is why today I would like to take a few minutes to breaking those chains.
But first, let's talk about what we are fighting for. The West represents the pinnacle of human achievement on the fertile ground of its Greco-Roman heritage and Judeo-Christian values.
The seeds of something unprecedented in history were sown after definitively overcoming absolutism. Liberalism inaugurated a new era in human existence, and within the new moral and philosophical framework, which placed individual liberty above the whims of tyrants, the West was able to unleash man's creative capacity, initiating an unprecedented process of wealth generation.
The data speaks for itself. Until the year 1800, the world's per capita GDP remained virtually constant. However, from the 19th century onwards, and thanks to the Industrial Revolution, per capita GDP multiplied by 20, lifting 90% of the global population out of poverty, even though the population itself increased eightfold.
And this was only possible thanks to a convergence of fundamental values, respect for life, liberty and property, which enabled free trade, freedom of speech, freedom of religion and the other pillars of Western civilization. In addition, our inventive Faustian exploratory, pioneering spirit, which is constantly testing the limits of what is possible, and that's a pioneering spirit that today is represented, among others, by my dear friend Elon Musk, who has been unjustly vilified by the wokism ideology in recent days for an innocent gesture that simply reflects his enthusiasm and gratitude towards people.
In summary, we invented capitalism on the basis of saving, investment, labour and reinvestment, and hard work. We got every worker to multiply tenfold or 100-fold, or why not even a 1,000-fold? Their productivity thus overcoming the Malthusian trap. Yet at some point in the 20th century, we lost our way and the liberal principles that had made us free and prosperous were betrayed.
A new political class, driven by collectivist ideologies and taking advantage of times of crisis, saw the perfect opportunity to accumulate power. All the wealth created by capitalism until then and into the future would be redistributed through some scheme of centralized planning, setting in motion a process whose disastrous consequences we are suffering today.
By promoting a socialist agenda while insidiously operating within the liberal paradigm, this new political class distorted the values of liberalism, and so they replaced freedom with liberation, using the coercive power of the state to redistribute the wealth created by capitalism.
Their justification was the sinister, unjust and abhorrent idea of social justice, complemented by theoretical Marxist frameworks aimed at liberating individuals from their needs. And at the core of this new value system lies the fundamental premise that equality before the law is not enough, as hidden systemic injustices exist which must be rectified, an idea that serves as a gold mine for bureaucrats who aspire to omnipotence.
And this is fundamentally, fundamentally what wokeism is about, the result of the reversal of Western values. Each of our civilization's pillars has been replaced by a distorted version of itself through various mechanisms of cultural subversion.
Negative rights to life, liberty and property were transformed into an artificially and artificial and endless list of positive rights. First it was education, then housing, and from then on, absurdities like access to the internet, televised football, theatre, cosmetic treatments and an endless number of other desires that were turned into fundamental human rights.
Rights that, of course, someone has to pay for, and which can only be guaranteed through the infinite expansion of the abhorrent state. In other words, we moved from the concept of freedom as the fundamental protection of the individual against the intervention of the tyrant to the concept of liberation through state intervention.
On this foundation, wokeism was built – an ideology of monolithic thinking upheld by various institutions whose purpose is to penalize dissent, feminism, diversity, inclusion, equity, immigration, abortion, environmentalism, gender ideology, among others. These are all various heads of the same beast aimed at justifying the state's expansion through the appropriation and distortion of noble causes.
Let us look at some of these. Radical feminism is a distortion of the concept of equality, even in its most benevolent form, it is redundant – as equality before the law already exists in the West. Everything else is a quest for privileges, which is what radical feminism truly seeks, pitting half of the population against the other half, when they should both be on the same side.
We have even got to the point of normalizing the fact that in many supposedly civilized countries, if you kill a woman, it is called femicide. And this carries more serious punishment than if you kill a man simply based on the sex of the victim – legally making a woman's life be worth more than that of a man.
And that they carry the banner of the gender-based wage gap. But when you look at the data, it is clear that there is no inequality for the same work, but rather that most men tend to choose better paying professions than most women.
However, they don't complain about the fact that most prison inmates are men, or that most plumbers are men, or that most victims of robbery or murder are men – let alone the majority of people who have died in wars.
But if you raise these points in the media or even at this forum, you are considered a misogynist simply for defending an elementary principle of modern democracy and the rule of law, which is equality before the law. And of course, defending the data as well.
Wokism also manifests in sinister radical environmentalism and the climate change agenda, preserving our planet for future generations is a matter of common sense. No-one wants to live in a landfill.
But once again, wokeism has managed to pervert this fundamental idea. From preserving the environment for human enjoyment, we have shifted to a fanatical environmentalism, where we humans are seen as a cancer that must be eradicated and economic development is considered little more than a crime against nature.
And yet, when we argue that the Earth has already gone through five abrupt temperature change cycles, and that during four of those men was not even around, we are called ‘Flat Earthers’ in order to discredit our ideas, even though science and the data are on our side.
It is no coincidence that these same groups are the main promoters of the bloody, murderous abortion agenda, an agenda designed on the basis of the Malthusian premise that overpopulation will destroy the Earth, and that we must therefore implement some form of population control.
In fact, this has been carried to such an extreme that today on Earth we start to see a population growth rate starting to look like a problem and talk about a job they've done by promoting abortion.
And these forums promote the LGBT agenda, attempting to impose the idea that women are men and men are women simply based on self-perception. And they say nothing about when a man dresses as a woman and kills his opponent in a boxing ring, or when a male prison inmate claims to be a woman and ends up sexually assaulting women in prison.
In fact, just a few weeks ago, there were headlines around the world regarding the case of two gay Americans who championed the banners of sexual diversity and were sentenced to 100 years in prison for abusing and filming their adopted children for more than two years.
I want to be clear when I say abuse, this is no euphemism because in its most extreme forms, gender ideology is outright child abuse. They are paedophiles. So, I want to know who would support that kind of behaviour.
Healthy children are being irreversibly harmed through hormone treatments and mutilation, as if a five-year-old child could possibly consent to such things, and should their family not agree to this, there will always be state agents ready to step in in favour of what they call the best interests of the child.
And believe me, the scandalous experiments in the name of this criminal ideology will be condemned and likened to those committed in the darkest periods in our history. And covering this multitude of abhorrent practices is the eternal victimhood narrative, always ready to hurl accusations of homophobia, transphobia and other fabricated terms, whose sole purpose is to silence those of us who dare to expose the scandal – one of which both national and international authorities are complicit.
Meanwhile, in our businesses, public institutions and educational establishments, merit has been cast aside in favour of the doctrine of diversity, which represents a regression to the aristocratic systems of the past.
Quotas are invented for every minority politicians can come up with, which ends up undermining the excellence of institutions. Wokeism has also distorted the issue of immigration, the free movement of goods and people is a fundamental pillar of liberalism.
We know this well. Argentina, the United States and many other countries became great thanks to immigrants who left their homelands in search of new opportunities. However, we have shifted from attracting foreign talent to foster development to now embracing mass immigration, driven not by national interests but by guilt.
Since the West is supposedly the root cause of all of the world's evils in history, it must redeem itself by opening its borders to everyone, which leads to a form of reverse colonization that resembles collective suicide.
So, this is how we now see images of hordes of immigrants who abuse, assault, or even kill European citizens, whose only sin was not adhering to a particular religion. But when someone questions these situations, they are immediately labelled racists, xenophobic or even Nazis.
Wokeism has penetrated our societies so deeply, promoted by institutions like this one, that it has even led to questioning the very concept of biological sex through the disastrous influence of gender ideology, which has resulted in even greater state intervention through absurd legislation – such as the state having to fund expensive hormone treatments and surgeries to fulfil the self-perception of certain individuals.
Only now are we beginning to see the effects of an entire generation that has mutilated their bodies, encouraged by a culture of sexual relativism, and these people will have to spend their entire lives in psychiatric treatment to cope with what they have done to themselves. Yet no one dares to speak about these issues. Not only that, but the vast majority have also been subjected to the misguided self-perceptions of a tiny minority.
And wokeism also seeks to hijack our future because by dominating the faculties of the world's most prestigious universities, it is shaping the elites of our countries to reject and deny the culture, ideas and values that made us great, further damaging our social fabric.
What future do we have if we are teaching our young people to feel ashamed of our past? All of this was incubated and increasingly developed over the past decades, after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Curious enough, free nations began to self-destruct when they no longer had adversaries to defeat. Peace made us weak. We were defeated by our own complacency. All these and other aberrations which we can't enumerate due to time constraints, are the threats that today endanger the West.
And unfortunately, these are the beliefs that institutions like this one have been promoting for 40 years, and no one here can feign innocence. For decades, there has been a worship of a sinister and murderous ideology, as if it were a golden calf, moving heaven and Earth to impose it on humanity.
And this organization, along with the most influential supranational bodies, have been the ideologues of this barbarity. Multilateral lending organizations have been instruments of extortion, while many national governments, and especially the European Union, have acted as their armed wing.
Is it not true that right now, as we speak, in the UK citizens are being imprisoned for exposing horrifying crimes committed by Muslim migrants, crimes that the government seeks to conceal? Or didn't the bureaucrats in Brussels suspend Romania's elections simply because they didn't like the party that had won?
Faced with each of these discussions, wokeism’s first strategy is to discredit those of us who challenge these things first by labelling us and then by silencing us. If you're white, you must be racist. If you're a man, you must be a misogynist or part of the patriarchy. If you're rich, you must be a cruel capitalist. If you're heterosexual, you must be heteronormative, homophobic or transphobic.
For every challenge, they have a label, and then they try to suppress you by force, or through legal means. Because beneath the rhetoric of diversity, democracy and tolerance that they so often preach, what truly lies is their blatant desire to eliminate dissent, criticism and ultimately freedom, so they can continue to uphold a model in which they are the main beneficiaries.
Haven't we heard only recently how certain European leading authorities and quite reddish, I should say, actually have made open appeals to censorship. Actually, there is no censorship, but rather this idea that you need to silence those who don't partake in the woke ideology.
And what kind of society can wokeism create? A society that replaced the free exchange of goods and services with the arbitrary distribution of wealth at gunpoint. One that replaced free communities with forced collectivization. One that replaced the creative chaos of the market with the sterile and sclerotic order of socialism. A society filled with resentment where there are only two types of people – those who are net taxpayers, on the one hand, and those who are beneficiaries of the state on the other.
And by this, I don't refer to those who receive social assistance because they don't have enough to eat. I'm talking about the privileged corporations, the bankers who were bailed out during the sub-prime crisis, the majority of media outlets, the indoctrination centres disguised as universities, the state bureaucracy, the unions, social organizations and the crony businesses that thrive off the taxes paid by hard-working individuals and taxpayers.
I'm talking about the world described by Ayn Rand in Atlas Shrugged, which unfortunately has become a reality. It is a system where the big winner is the political class, which becomes both a referee and stakeholder in this redistribution game.
I say it again, the political class is a referee and stakeholder, an interested party in this redistribution. Of course, the one who redistributes is the one who keeps the lion's share. And despite the cosmetic differences between various political parties, they share interests, partners, deals and an unshakable commitment to maintaining the status quo.
That is why I call them all the party of the state, a system that hides behind well-meaning rhetoric claiming that the market fails and that they are the ones responsible for correcting the failures through regulations, force and bureaucracy.
But there is no such thing as market failures. Market failures, I say this again, do not exist. Since the market is a mechanism of social cooperation where property rights are voluntarily exchanged, the very concept of market failures is a contradiction in terms.
The only thing such intervention achieves is the creation of new distortions within the price system, which in turn hinders economic calculation, savings and investment – ultimately leading to even more poverty in its wake or a mesh of abhorrent regulations, such as is the case in Europe, which kills economic growth.
As I often say in my speeches, if you believe there is a market failure, go and check to see if the state is not involved. And if you find that it isn't, check again because you got it wrong.
For this same reason, since wokism is nothing more than a systematic plan by the party of the state to justify state intervention and increase public spending, this means that our first and foremost mission – if we truly want to reclaim the West's progress and build a new golden era – has to be the drastic reduction in the size of the state.
Not only in each of our countries, but also the drastic reduction of all supranational organizations, as this is the only way to root out this perverse system, draining its resources in order to give back to taxpayers what belongs to them, and to put an end to the sale of favours. There is no better method to end state bureaucracy than to have no opportunity for such favours to be sold in the first place.
The functions of the state must once again be limited to defending the right to life, liberty and property. Any other function the state assumes will come at the expense of its fundamental role and will inevitably lead to the ‘omnipresent Leviathan’ that we all suffer under today.
Today we are witnessing the global exhaustion of this system that has dominated us for the past few decades. Just as has happened in Argentina, the rest of the world is seeing the deepening of the only truly relevant conflict of this century, and of all previous ones – the conflict between free citizens and the political caste that clings to the established order, doubling down on its efforts aimed at censorship, persecution and destruction.
Fortunately, throughout the free world, a silent majority is organizing. And in every corner of our hemisphere, the echo of this freedom cry resonates. We are facing a change of era, a Copernican shift, the destruction of a paradigm and the construction of another.
And if globally influential institutions like this one wish to turn over a new leaf and participate in good faith in this new paradigm, it will have to take responsibility for the role played over the past decades, acknowledging to society the Mia culpa that is being demanded of them.
To conclude, I wish to speak directly to the world's leaders, to all those who lead both national states, and also to major economic groups and influential international organizations, whether present here today or listening from their homes.
The political formulas of the past decades, which I have referred to in this speech, have failed and are now collapsing under their own weight. This means that thinking like everyone else does, reading what everyone else reads, and saying what everyone else says, can only lead to error. Even though many still insist on marching towards the precipice.
The script of the last 40 years has run out, and when a system runs out, history opens up. That is why, to all global leaders, I say it is time to break free from that script. It is time to be bold. It is time to dare to think and to dare to write our own verses.
Because when the ideas and narratives of the present all say the same thing – and they say the wrong things – being brave means standing outside of time. It means looking backwards, not being dazzled by the transient, losing sight of the universal. It means reclaiming truths that were obvious to our ancestors and that are at the core of Western civilization success, but which the regime of monolithic thinking of recent decades has persecuted as if they were heresies.
As Churchill once said, the farther back you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see. In other words, we must reconnect with the forgotten truths of our past, to untangle the knots of the present and take the next step forward as a civilization towards the future.
And what do I see when I look back? That we must once again embrace the last proven thesis of economic and social success. This is the model of freedom, once again embracing the ideas of freedom. Going back to libertarianism.
That's what we're doing in Argentina. That is what I trust President Trump will do in the new America. And this is what we invite all the great nations of the free world to do if they wish to halt in time what is clearly a path leading to catastrophe.
So ultimately, what I'm proposing is that we make the West great again today. Today, just as 215 years ago, Argentina has broken its chains and invites us – as our national anthem declares – invites us, all mortals of the world to hear the sacred cry: ‘Freedom, freedom, freedom! May the forces of heaven be with us.’

THE PRESIDENT: Well, thank you very much, Klaus. And hello to everyone in beautiful Davos.
This has been a truly historic week in the United States. Three days ago, I took the oath of office, and we began the golden age of America. The recent presidential election was won by millions of votes and all seven — every one of them — all seven swing states. It was a massive mandate from the American people like hasn’t been seen in many years. And some of the political pundits, even some of my so-called enemies, said it was the most consequential election victory in 129 years. That’s quite nice.
What the world has witnessed in the past 72 hours is nothing less than a revolution of common sense. Our country will soon be stronger, wealthier, and more united than ever before, and the entire planet will be more peaceful and prosperous as a result of this incredible momentum and what we’re doing and going to do.
My administration is acting with unprecedented speed to fix the disasters we’ve inherited from a totally inept group of people and to solve every single crisis facing our country.
This begins with confronting the economic chaos caused by the failed policies of the last administration. Over the past four years, our government racked up $8 trillion in wasteful deficit spending and inflicted nation-wrecking energy restrictions, crippling regulations, and hidden taxes like never before. The result is the worst inflation crisis in modern history and sky-high interest rates for our citizens and even throughout the world. Food prices and the price of almost every other thing known to mankind went through the roof.
President Biden totally lost control of what was going on in our country but, in particular, with our high-inflation economy and at our border. Because of these ruinous policies, total government spending this year is $1.5 trillion higher than was projected to occur when I left office just four years ago. Likewise, the cost of servicing the debt is more than 230 percent higher than was projected in 2020.
The inflation rate we are inheriting remains 50 percent higher than the historic target. It was the highest inflation probably in the history of our country. That’s why, from the moment I took office, I’ve taken rapid action to reverse each and every one of these radical left policies that created this calamity — in particular, with immigration, crime, and inflation.
On day one, I signed an executive order directing every member of my Cabinet to marshal all powers at their disposal to defeat inflation and reduce the cost of daily life. I imposed a federal hiring freeze, a federal regulation freeze, a foreign aid freeze, and I created the new Department of Government Efficiency.
I terminated the ridiculous and incredibly wasteful Green New Deal — I call it the “Green New Scam”; withdrew from the one-sided Paris Climate Accord; and ended the insane and costly electric vehicle mandate. We’re going to let people buy the car they want to buy.
I declared a national em- — energy emergency — and it’s so important — national energy emergency to unlock the liquid gold under our feet and pave the way for rapid approvals of new energy infrastructure. The United States has the largest amount of oil and gas of any country on Earth, and we’re going to use it.
Not only will this reduce the cost of virtually all goods and services, it will make the United States a manufacturing superpower and the world capital of artificial intelligence and crypto.
My administration has also begun the largest deregulation campaign in history, far exceeding even the record-setting efforts of my last term.
In total, the Biden administration imposed $50,000 in additional regulatory costs on the average American household over the last four years. I have promised to eliminate 10 old regulations for every new regulation, which will soon put many thousands of dollars back in the pockets of American families.
To further unleash our economy, our majorities in the House and Senate — which we also took, along with the presidency — are going to pass the largest tax cut in American history, including massive tax cuts for workers and family and big tax cuts for domestic producers and manufacturers. And we’re working with the Democrats on getting an extension of the original Trump tax cuts, as you probably know by just reading any paper.
My message to every business in the world is very simple: Come make your product in America, and we will give you among the lowest taxes of any nation on Earth. We’re bringing them down very substantially, even from the original Trump tax cuts. But if you don’t make your product in America, which is your prerogative, then, very simply, you will have to pay a tariff — differing amounts, but a tariff — which will direct hundreds of billions of dollars and even trillions of dollars into our Treasury to strengthen our economy and pay down debt.
Under the Trump administration, there will be no better place on Earth to create jobs, build factories, or grow a company than right here in the good old USA.
Already, American’s economic — and you can see this, I think, maybe even in your — in your wonderful, wonderful room that you’re all gathered together — so many of my friends — but, Americans, the economic confidence is soaring like we haven’t seen in many, many decades, maybe not at all.
Upon my election, it was just announced that small-business optimism skyrocketed by 41 points in a single month. That’s the highest ever. There’s never been anything like that.
SoftBank has announced between a $100 and $200 billion investment in the U.S. economy because of the election result. And just two days ago, Oracle, SoftBank, and OpenAI announced a $500 billion investment in AI infrastructure. Other companies, likewise, have announced billions and billions and billions — adding up to trillions — of investment in America, in the United States.
And it’s also reported today in the papers that Saudi Arabia will be investing at least $600 billion in America. But I’ll be asking the crown prince, who’s a fantastic guy, to round it out to around $1 trillion. I think they’ll do that because we’ve been very good to them. And I’m also going to ask Saudi Arabia and OPEC to bring down the cost of oil. You got to bring it down, which, frankly, I’m surprised they didn’t do before the election. That didn’t show a lot of love by them not doing it. I was a little surprised by that.
If the price came down, the Russia-Ukraine war would end immediately. Right now, the price is high enough that that war will continue. You got to bring down the oil price; you’re going to end that war. They should have done it long ago. They’re very responsible, actually, to a certain extent, for what’s taking place — millions of lives are being lost.
With oil prices going down, I’ll demand that interest rates drop immediately. And, likewise, they should be dropping all over the world. Interest rates should follow us.
All over, the progress that you’re seeing is happening because of our historic victory in a recent presidential election, one that has become quite well known throughout the world.
I think a lot of things are happening to a lot of countries. They say that there’s light shining all over the world since the election. And even countries that we aren’t particularly friendly with are happy because they understand what — there is a future and th- — how great the future will be.
Under our leadership, America is back and open for business. And this week, I’m also taking swift action to stop the invasion at our southern border. They allowed people to come in at levels that nobody has ever seen before. It was ridiculous. I decided a — and declared to dec- — to — to do — and very, very importantly — a national emergency on our border; immediately halted all entry of illegal border crossers, of which there were many; and began properly returning the illegal trespassers back to the place from which they came.
That action, as you’ve probably seen, has already started very strongly. I have deployed active-duty U.S. military and National Guard troops to the border to assist in repelling the invasion. It was really an invasion. We will not allow our territory to be violated.
After four long years, the United States is strong and sovereign and a beautiful nation once again. It’s a strong, sovereign nation.
In addition, I’m pleased to report that America is also a free nation once again. On day one, I signed an executive order to stop all government censorship. No longer will our government label the speech of our own citizens as misinformation or disinformation, which are the favorite words of censors and those who wish to stop the free exchange of ideas and, frankly, progress. We have saved free speech in America, and we’ve saved it strongly.
With another historic executive order this week, I also ended the weaponization of law enforcement against the American people — and, frankly, against politicians — and restored the fair, equal, and impartial rule of law.
My administration has taken action to abolish all discriminatory diversity, equity, and inclusion nonsense — and these are policies that were absolute nonsense — throughout the government and the private sector. With the recent, yet somewhat unexpected, great Supreme Court decision just made, America will once again become a merit-based country. You have to hear that word: merit-based country.
And I’ve made it official — an official policy of the United States that there are only two genders, male and female, and we will have no men participating in women’s sports, and transgender operations, which became the rage, will occur very rarely.
Finally, as we restore common sense in America, we’re moving quickly to bring back strength and peace and stability abroad. I’m also going to ask all NATO nations to increase defense spending to 5 percent of GDP, which is what it should have been years ago — it was only at 2 percent, and most nations didn’t pay until I came along; I insisted that they pay, and they did — because the United States was really paying the difference at that time, and it’s — it was unfair to the United States. But many, many things have been unfair for many years to the United States.
Before even taking office, my team negotiated a ceasefire agreement in the Middle East, which wouldn’t have happened without us, as I think most of the people in the room know. Earlier this week, the hostages began to return to their families. They are returning, and it’s a beautiful sight. And they’ll be coming in more and more. They started coming back on Sunday.
Our efforts to secure a peace settlement between Russia and Ukraine are now, hopefully, underway. It’s so important to get that done. That is an absolute killing field.
Millions of soldiers are being killed. Nobody has seen anything like it since World War II. They’re laying dead all over the flat fields. It’s a flat field — farmland, and there’s millions of Russians and millions of Ukrainians. Nobody’s seen anything like it since World War II. It’s time to end it.
And here in America, we have big events coming up. Next year we have the 250th anniversary of America’s founding. I’m so honored to be president during that. That’s been a big event. They’ve been talking about it for 10 years. We also have the World Cup, and I understand Gianni — Gianni is in the room — Infantino. He was very instrumental in helping us get it — he’s there with you someplace, I think — and I want to thank him for that.
And then we have the Olympics coming up, which I was instrumental in getting, also, in my first term. And who would have known that by skipping a term, I would get the Olympics? I was upset. I said, “You know, I got the Olympics to come and I won’t be president.” But it turned out, through a stroke of luck or whatever you might call it, that I’m going to be president during the World Cup and the Olympics and the 250th
anniversary. So, that’s going to be three big events.
And we’ve accomplished more in less than four days — we have really been working — four days — than other administrations have accomplished in four years, and we’re just getting started. It’s really an amazing thing to see, and the spirit and the light over our country has been incredible.
Under the last administration, our nation has suffered greatly, but we are going to bring it back and make it greater, bigger, stronger, better than ever before.
I want to thank everybody for being with you. I would have been there myself, except the inauguration was two days ago. I thought it might be a little bit quick to make it the first stop, but we’ll get there one day. We hope to get there.
But I — I do appreciate — I heard the audience is fantastic, and many of my friends are in the audience. And I will be taking questions now from some very distinguished people.

MR. BRENDE: Thank you. Thank you very much, Mr. President, for that very powerful speech, and I think you could hear the applause all the way from Davos to the White House. But next year, it will be even better, because then you can get the applause here in Davos. So, we wish you welcome to our village next year. We hope to see you.
THE PRESIDENT: Thank you very much.
MR. BRENDE: So, we also know, Mr. President, that you open up for interaction here. We have a great panel with some of the most distinguished businesspeople in the world.
Let me start with someone that you know really well, that I think is almost a neighbor of you in Mal-a- — in — in Florida, Mr. Steve Schwarzman, chairman, CEO, and cofounder of Blackstone Group.
So, Steve, floor is yours.
MR. SCHWARZMAN: Well, Mr. President —
THE PRESIDENT: Hello, Steve.
MR. SCHWARZMAN: — I’m sure the crown prince of Saudi Arabia will be really glad you gave this speech today. (Laughter.)
THE PRESIDENT: I hope so.
MR. SCHWARZMAN: You’ve had the busiest four days that anybody can imagine, and congratulations for that.
And my question is — is about some of the things I’ve observed here at Davos. It’s a terrific forum. I’ve met lots of people, as usual. I think I’ve been here 30 years. And a lot of the European businesspeople have expressed enormous frustration with the regulatory regime in the EU, and they attribute slower growth rates here because of numerous factors, but especially because of regulations.
And you’ve taken a completely different approach in this area. And if you could explain the theory of what you’re doing, how you’re going to do it, and what you expect the outcome to be, I’d appreciate it.
THE PRESIDENT: Well, thank you very much. And congratulations, Steve — you’re a friend of mine — but on a great career. You have had an amazing career and continues. So, I just want to congratulate you. Very inspirational to a lot of people.
I want to talk about the EU, because you mentioned specifically that I’ve also had a lot of friends and leaders of countries. I’ve gotten to know them all my first term and a little bit during this period of four years and know them well, like them a lot, but they’re very frustrated because of the time everything seems to take to get approved — environmental impact statements for things that you shouldn’t even have to do that, and many, many other ways that it takes.
And I’m going to give you a quick little example. I w- — in the private life, my beautiful private life — before I had all these things happening — the world is a little different — I had a nice, simple life. You knew that.
But when I had that simple life, I did projects, and I had a big project in Ireland, and it had to get approval on something that would have made it even better. And I got the approval from Ireland in a period of a week, and it was a very, very, very efficient, good approval.
And they informed me, though, “The problem is you’re going to have to get it from the EU, and we think that’ll take five to six years.” And I said, “You have to be kidding.” And this was before politics. And I said, “Wait a minute. It’s not that important. I don’t want to go five or six years.” But it would have been a big investment. It would have been nice, and it would have been good for the project.
And I sent the people to the EU to see if they could speed it up, and basically it was a five- or six-year wait just to get a simple approval that Ireland gave me in a period of, literally, not much more than a week.
And I realized right then — that was the first time I really was involved with the EU, but I realized right then, that’s a problem, and I didn’t even bother applying to do it, and — or if I did, I pulled it very quickly. I don’t wa- — I have to be very accurate, because I don’t want to be criticized. “He did apply, actually.” No, I want to be very accurate. So, I don’t think I did, but if I did, I pulled it very quickly. It was just something you — you couldn’t wait five years or six years to get an approval.
So, a lot of — in a very big business sense, a lot of people are — are claiming that’s the problem.
From the standpoint of America, the EU treats us very, very unfairly, very badly. They have a large tax that we know about and — a VAT tax — and it’s a very substantial one. They don’t take our far- — essentially, don’t take our farm products and they don’t take our cars. Yet, they send cars to us by the millions.
They put tariffs on things that we want to do, like, for instance, I think they actually — in terms of these are noneconomic or nonmonetary tariffs, and — and those are very bad, and they make it very difficult to bring products into Europe, and yet they expect to be selling and they do sell their products in the United States.
So, we have, you know, hundreds of billions of dollars of deficits with the EU, and nobody is happy with it. And we’re going to do something about it, but nobody is happy with it. So, I think the EU has to speed up their process.
Friends of mine that are in some of the nations within the EU, great people, they — they want to be able to compete better, and you can’t compete when you can’t get — go through the approval process fast. There’s no reason why it can’t go faster.
So, you know, I’m — I’m trying to be constructive, because I love Europe. I love the countries of Europe. But the process is a very cumbersome one, and th- — and they do treat the United States of America very, very unfairly with the VAT taxes and all of the other taxes they impose.
One other — just to finish up, I got a call from the head of a major airline, one of the biggest airlines in the world. And he said, “Sir, could you help us?” “What?” “Landing in Europe is brutal. They charge us fees for everything, and it’s so unfair.” I said, “How does it compare to China?” He said, “It’s — it’s much worse.”
And the other thing, as you know, they took court cases with Apple, and they supposedly won a case that most people didn’t think was much of a case. They won $15 or $16 billion from Apple. They won billions from Google. I think they’re after Facebook for billions and billions.
These are American companies. Whether you like them or not, they’re — they’re American companies, and they shouldn’t be doing that. And that’s — as far as I’m concerned, it’s a form of taxation.
So, we have some very big complaints with the EU.

MR. BRENDE: Tha- — thank you very much, Mr. President. We’ll now go to one of your friends in the EU, Patrick Pouyanné. He’s the chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies.
I guess you have a question ready, Patrick, for the president.
MR. POUYANNÉ: Mr. President, as we understand, energy is at the top of your agenda, and it’s an honor for me to represent the energy industry tonight in this panel. TotalEnergies is indeed the fourth largest oil and gas and electricity company in the world.
I will not ask you a question about the oil price. It’s quite clear what you expect from us. I will more go to gas more. And we, our company, is the largest, number one exporter LNG from the U.S. company. We are a strong contributor to and we invest in mammoth LNG projects in Texas, $20 billion. It’s far from $200, but it’s $20 billion. And we contribute with that to security of supply to Europe as we export this LNG to Europe.
Some experts fear that if there are too many projects developed in the U.S. on LNG, this could have an inflat- — inflationary impact on the U.S. domestic gas price, and they recommend a pause on these projects.
I would ask you the following question: What are your views on — about such a pause on investments on LNG in the U.S.? What would happen if you would observe an increased domestic gas price because of these exports? And final question, which is important for Europe: Would you agree to guarantee security of supplies of U.S. LNG to Europe?
THE PRESIDENT: Well, on the last part of your question, yes, I would. I would make sure that you get it. If we make a deal, we make a deal; you’ll get it. Because a lot of people do have that problem. They make a deal, and then it can’t get supplied because of war-type problems and other problems. So, we would absolutely do that.
LNG is very interesting, because when I took office for the first term, one of the first things I looked at was two — there were two very massive plants in Louisiana, a state that has been very good to me. I won it by many, many points, and
I felt strongly indebted to it, actually.
And they said there are two plants that have been under environmental consideration for more than 10 years, and they were costing — as you say, you know how expensive those plants are — but they were costing like $12 billion and, I think, $14 or $15 billion. But they couldn’t get their permits. It was — they were in review for years — many, many years — like a decade or more.
And I said, “So ridiculous.” I know so much about that, because in the construction industry, I had to go through it too, but I got good at it after a while.
But I — I went — I saw the projects, and you’re talking about a total investment of $25 to $30 billion, and it looked like it was going to end. They couldn’t get their permits, and I got them done in less than a week. It was done, completed.
In fact, when they called them to announce that it was done, the countries — largely countries — Japan was involved and — and another country and some very big investors — they couldn’t believe it. They actually couldn’t believe it.
And I said, “Just do yourself one favor. Don’t pay any consultants, because the only one that got it done was me.” I got it done because it was the right thing to do for the U.S. and for the world, but the consultants had nothing to do with it, you know? The consultants go in and they say, “Give us millions of dollars because Trump did it.” Nobody called me about it. I just heard it was a problem for years, and I got it done because it was the right thing to do for the U.S. and the right thing to do for beyond. It had to do with energy — very important.
So, I think it’s very important. I think the — the — you know, I disagree with one. I think the more that you do, the lower the price is going to go. And what I’d like to see is rapid approvals.
We’re going to give very rapid approvals in the United States, like with the AI plants, talking to — many people want to build them. That’s going to be a very big thing.
We’re going to build electric generating facilities — they are going to build. I’m going to get them the approval. Under emergency declaration, I can get the approvals done myself without having to go through years of waiting.
And the big problem is we need double the energy we currently have in the United States — can you imagine? — for AI to really be as big as we want to have it. Because it’s a very competitive — it will be very competitive with China and others.
So, I’m going to give emergency declarations so that they can start building them almost immediately.
And I’m — I’m — I think it was largely my idea, because nobody thought this was possible. It wasn’t that they were not smart, because they’re the smartest, but I told them that what I want you to do is build your electric generating plant right next to your plant as a separate building, connected. And they said, “Wow, you’re kidding.” And I said, “No, no. I’m not kidding.” You don’t have to hook into the grid, which is old and, you know, could be taken out. If it’s taken out, they wouldn’t have any way to get any electricity.
So, we are going to allow them to go on a very rapid bas- — basis to build their plant — build the electric generating plant. They can fuel it with anything they want, and they may have coal as a backup. Good, clean coal.
You know, if there were a problem with a — with a pipe coming in — as an example, you’re going with gas — oil or gas — and a pipe gets blown up or, for some reason, doesn’t work, there are some companies in the U.S. that have coal sitting right by the plant so that if there’s an emergency, they can go to that short-term basis and use our very clean coal.
So, that’s something else that a lot of people didn’t even know about. But nothing can destroy coal — not the weather, not a bomb — nothing. It might make it a little smaller, might make it a little different shape. But coal is very strong as a backup. It’s a great backup to have that facility, and it wouldn’t cost much more — more money.
And we have more coal than anybody. We also have more oil and gas than anybody.
So, we’re going to make it so that the plants will have their own electric generating facilities attached right to their plant. They don’t have to worry about a utility. They don’t have to worry about anything. And we’re going to get very rapid approvals.
MR. BRENDE: Thank you. Thank you so much, Mr. President. We’ll now go to another CEO that you know very well: Brian Moynihan, the CEO and chair of Bank of America.
MR. MOYNIHAN: Good afternoon, Mr. President, and congratulations — an obviously eventful week for you and your family.
If you remember, five years ago, you came here and we walked among 150 CEOs from all over the world, and you engaged with them about your policies and your procedures.
This year, you’re not here. And yet this week was eventful, from the orders that you mentioned earlier — literally a wave of orders coming out on immigration, on trade, and many other matters.
And so, as a representative of the United States here,
we got a lot of questions about what does all this mean and how would the president square this with his clear focus on growth, prosperity, market gro- — stock market growth, a good bond market, and bringing down prices.
So, how do you think about the impact of all these orders and how fast they come out and how you’re going to balance them with that scorecard of being successful on both contan- — continuing GDP growth, bringing down inflation, and also having a good stock price appreciation for the American citizen?
THE PRESIDENT: Well, I think it’s going to actually bring down inflation. It’s going to bring up jobs. We’re going to have a lot of jobs. We’re going to have a lot of companies moving in.
You know, Brian, we’re at 21 percent. It was at 40 percent, and I got it down to 21 percent — the corporate tax. And it was — actually, if you look at state and city, it was, in many cases, much higher than 40 percent. I got it down to 21 percent. And now we’re going to bring it down from 21 to 15 percent if — this is a big “if” — if you make your product in the U.S.
So, we’re going to have the lowest — just about the lowest rate. It will be — the 21 is on the low side worldwide; the 15 is about as low as it gets, and by far the lowest of a large country — a large, you know, rich, powerful country — by far, not even a contest.
So, we’re going to bring it down to 15 percent if you make your product in the USA. So, that’s going to create a — a tremendous buzz.
We’re also probably going back to the one-year deduction, where we deduct — you know, we — we did that originally, and that was amazing what — the impact that that had, the one-year deduction, which built up over a period of time and then it expires. But we’re going to go back to that when we do the renewal of the Trump tax plan.
We have to get Democrats to approve it. But, you know, if the Democrats didn’t approve it, I don’t know how they can survive with about a 45 percent tax increase, because that’s what it would be. And so, I think they’re going to b- — w- — we’ve been working along with them pretty well.
I think it’s very hard for a political group to say, “Let’s charge people 45 percent more.” So, I think we’re in good shape.
But we’re actually doing a reduction for business and small businesses, where you’re going to b- — bring it down to 15 percent, which is really something.
And, by the way, speaking of you — and you’ve done a fantastic job — but I hope you start opening your bank to conservatives, because many conservatives complain that the banks are not allowing them to do business within the bank, and that included a place called Bank of America. This conserve- — they don’t take conservative business. And I don’t know if the regulators mandated that because of Biden or what, but you and Jamie and everybody, I hope you’re going to open your banks to conservatives, because what you’re doing is wrong.
MR. MOYNIHAN: Mr. President —
MR. BRENDE: (Inaudible.)
MR. MOYNIHAN: — I’ll say that your friend Gianni was — said hello — told me tell you hello, and we look forward to sponsoring the World Cup when it comes, both this summer for the club and next year. So, thank you for getting that for the United States.
THE PRESIDENT: Thank you very much, Brian.
MR. BRENDE: Thank you, Mr. President. We’ll now go to Ana Botín. She’s the executive chairman of Banco Santander, one of the big European banks and also in the U.S.
So, Ana.
MS. BOTÍN: Mr. President, congratulations on a historic victory.
THE PRESIDENT: Thank you.
MS. BOTÍN: I believe you don’t know me as well as my fellow panelists, so a few words. Santander is one of the largest banks in the world by number of customers, 170 million. That’s more than my friend Brian or my friend Jamie have. (Laughter.)
THE PRESIDENT: Wow.
MS. BOTÍN: And those — (applause) —
MR. MOYNIHAN: If they fix the regulation (inaudible).
MS. BOTÍN: That’s coming. That’s coming.
MR. BRENDE: That was cheeky. (Laughter.)
MS. BOTÍN: We are — we are a big investor in the United States. We have many million customer, 12,000 employees. We’re one of the largest auto lenders, and we recently launched a fully digital bank called Openbank.
We strongly believe banks have a pivotal role in the economy, and we can accelerate growth and help many more customers. That’s what we do in the United States. So, as Brian pointed out, we very much welcome your focus on deregulation and reducing bureaucracy.
So, my question is: What are your priorities in this regard, and how fast is this going to happen? Thank you very much.
THE PRESIDENT: Well, I think it’s going to — thank you and congratulations. I know very much about your bank, and you’ve done a fantastic job. Congratulations.
We are going to move very quickly. We’ve moved very quickly. We’ve done things in the last three days that nobody thought were possible to do in years. And it’s all taken — it’s all taken effect. It’s going to have a huge impact on the economy, a huge positive impact. Money was being wasted on crazy things.
I mean, the Green New Deal was such a total disgrace — what — what — how that was perpetrated. And it was conceived of by people that were average students — less than average students, I might add — and never even took a course in energy or the environment. It was just a game. Remember, the world was going to end in 12 years? Remember that? Well, the 12 years has come and gone. It was going to end. It was going to all foam into earth. But, you know, the time has come.
The — these people — and they — they really — they really scared the Democrats large- — I can’t say the Republicans. Republicans maybe could have fought harder to stop it, but it’s been a tremendous waste of — a tremendous waste of money.
You know, during my four years, we had the cleanest air, we had the cleanest water, and yet we had the most productive economy in the history of our country. We had the most productive economy. Until COVID came, we had the most productive in the history of our country, by far.
And — and actually, you could look worldwide, we — we’re — we were beating everybody from China to everybody else. So — and we think we really — now, with what we have learned and all of the other things that have taken place, we think we can even far surpass that — a- — actually, far, far surpass it. But we do — one thing we’re going to be demanding is we’re going to — be demanding respect from other nations.
Canada. We have a tremendous deficit with Canada. We’re not going to have that anymore. We can’t do it. It’s — it’s — I don’t know if it’s good for them. As you probably know, I say, “You can always become a state, and if you’re a state, we won’t have a deficit. We won’t have to tariff you, et cetera, et cetera.”
But Canada has been very tough to deal with over the years, and it’s not fair that we should have a $200 billion or $250 billion deficit. We don’t need them to make our cars, and they make a lot of them. We don’t need their lumber because we have our own forests, et cetera, et cetera. We don’t need their oil and gas. We have our — we have more than anybody.
So, you know, just as an example, with Mexico — we’re dealing with Mexico, I think, very well. And we’re just — you know, w- — we just want to be treated fairly with other nations, because there’s hardly a nation in the world — and I blame this on us, and I blame it on politicians that for some reason — and probably mostly it’s stupidity, but you could also say other reasons, but mostly stupidity — they’ve allowed other nations to take advantage of the U.S. And w- — we can’t allow that to happen anymore.
You know, we have debt. It’s a very small debt when you compare it to value — the value of the assets that we have, but we don’t want to do that. We want to just have debt be obliterated, and we’ll be able to do that fairly rapidly. And a lot of good things are going to happen.
And — and honestly, good things are going to happen for the world, and good things are going to happen for the people that are dealing with us — allies and beyond allies.
One thing — very important — I really would like to be able to meet with President Putin soon and get that war end — ended, and — and that’s not from the standpoint of economy or anything else. It’s from the standpoint of millions of lives are being wasted. Beautiful, young people are being shot in the battlefield. You know, the bullet — a very flat land, as I said, and the bullet goes — there’s no — there’s no hiding. And a bullet — the only thing going to stop the bullet is a human body. And you have to see — I’ve seen pictures of what’s taken place. It’s a carnage.
And we really have to stop that war. That war is horrible. And I’m not talking economy, I’m not talking economics, I’m not talking about natural resource. I’m just talking about: There’s so many young people being killed in this war, and that’s not including the people that have been killed as the cities are being, you know, knocked down building by building. So, we really should get that stopped.
Likewise, in the Middle East, I think we’ve made a lot of progress in the Middle East, and I think that’s going to — that’s going to come along pretty well.
Thank you very much.
MR. BRENDE: Thank you, Mr. President. We know that most consequential relationship in the world is between the U.S. and China. U.S., 28 percent of the global economy; China close to 20. That’s almost half of the global GDP.
And we know that you called President Xi Jinping last Friday. We heard that you had a good discussion.
How do you see the relationship between the U.S. and China in the next four years under your leadership?
THE PRESIDENT: He called me. But I see it very good. I think that we’re going to have a very good relationship. All we want is fairness. We just want a level playing field. We don’t want to take advantage. We’ve been having massive deficits with China. Biden allowed it to get out of hand. He’s — $1.1 trillion deficit. It’s ridiculous, and it’s just an unfair relationship.
And we have to make it just fair. We don’t have to make it phenomenal. We have to make it a fair relationship. Right now, it’s not a fair relationship. The deficit is massive, as it is with other countries — a lot of Asian countries, actually. But we have deficits that are very big, and we can’t keep doing that, so we’re not going to keep doing that.
But I like President Xi very much. I’ve always liked him. We always had a very good relationship. It was very strained with COVID coming out of Wuhan. Obviously, that strained it. I’m sure it strained it with a lot of people, but that strained our relationship. But we always had a great relationship, I would say, and we look forward to doing very well with China and getting along with China.
Hopefully, China can help us stop the war with, in particular, Russia-Ukraine. And they have a great deal of power over that situation, and we’ll work with them.
And I mentioned that with — during our phone conversation with President Xi, and hopefully we could work together and get that stopped.
We’d like to see denuclearization. In fact, with President Putin, prior to a — an election result, which was, frankly, ridiculous, we were talking about denuclearization of our two countries, and China would have come along. China has a — a much smaller, right now, nuclear armament than us or field than us, but they’re — they’re going to be catching it at some point over the next four or five years.
And I will tell you that President Putin really liked the idea of — of cutting way back on nuclear. And I think the rest of the world, we would have gotten them to follow. And China would have come along too. China also liked it.
Tremendous amounts of money are being spent on nuclear, and the destructive capability is something that we don’t even want to talk about today, because you don’t want to hear it. It’s too depressing.
So, we want to see if we can denuclearize, and I think that’s very possible. And I can tell you that President Putin wanted to do it. He and I wanted to do it. We had a good conversation with China. They would have been involved, and that would have been an unbelievable thing for the planet.
And I hope —
MR. BRENDE: Mr. President, when you’re —
THE PRESIDENT: — it can be started up again.
MR. BRENDE: — back here in Davos next year, will — will there be then a peace agreement with — with Ukraine and Russia by then?
THE PRESIDENT: Well, you’re going to have to ask Russia. Ukraine is ready to — to make a deal.
Just so you understand, this is a war that should have never started. If I were president, it would never have started. This is a war that should have never, ever been started. And — and it wasn’t started during my — there was never even talk about it. I knew that it was the apple of President Putin’s eye, but I also knew that there was no way he was going in, and he wasn’t going to go in.
And then, when I was out, bad things happened, bad things were said, a lot of stupidity all around, and you end up with what you have. Now you have all these bombed-out cities — they look like demolition sites — with many people killed.
I think the — the thing that you’ll see about Ukraine is that far — far more people have died than is being reported. And I’ve seen that. But far, far more people have died.
When you look at a city that’s become a demolition site, where big buildings have been collapsed by missiles hitting them and everything else, and they say, “One person was slightly injured.” No, no, many people were killed. Those are big buildings. I was surprised at how — that was my business. These are buildings that go two and three blocks long. They’re 20 stories high. They’re big, powerful buildings. Then they were knocked down, and there were a lot of people in those buildings. They had announced that two people were injured. That’s not true. So, I think you’re going to find that there were many more people killed in Ukraine and the Ukraine war than anybody has any idea.
But if you look now, so many of the — the people being killed are soldiers just facing each other with guns, rifles, and drones — the new form of warfare — drones. And it’s a very sad thing to see.
And when you see pictures of the fields that I see, nobody wants to see it. You’ll never be the same.
MR. BRENDE: Thank you very much, Mr. President. On behalf of all the 3,000 participants here in Davos, we really, really underline that joining us, the third day in your presidency, live, taking questions here, it’s so appreciated. And we are already ready for receiving you next year in person.

We have a government that has given unlimited funding to the defense of foreign borders, but refuses to defend American borders, or, more importantly, its own people. Our country can no longer deliver basic services in times of emergency, as recently shown by the wonderful people of North Carolina, been treated so badly, and other states who are still suffering from a hurricane that took place many months ago. Or more recently Los Angeles, where we are watching fires still tragically burn from weeks ago without even a token of defense. They’re raging through the houses and communities, even affecting some of the wealthiest and most powerful individuals in our country, some of whom are sitting here right now. They don’t have a home any longer. That’s interesting, but we can’t let this happen. Everyone is unable to do anything about it. That’s going to change. We have a public health system that does not deliver in times of disaster, yet more money is spent on it than any country anywhere in the world. And we have an education system that teaches our children to be ashamed of themselves, in many cases to hate our country despite the love that we try so desperately to provide to them. All of this will change starting today, and it will change very quickly.
My recent election is a mandate to completely and totally reverse a horrible betrayal, and all of these many betrayals that have taken place, and to give the people back their faith, their wealth, their democracy and, indeed, their freedom. From this moment on, America’s decline is over. Our liberties and our nation’s glorious destiny will no longer be denied, and we will immediately restore the integrity, competency and loyalty of America’s government. Over the past eight years, I have been tested and challenged more than any president in our 250-year history, and I’ve learned a lot along the way. The journey to reclaim our republic has not been an easy one, that I can tell you. Those who wish to stop our cause have tried to take my freedom, and, indeed, to take my life. Today, I will sign a series of historic executive orders. With these actions, we will begin the complete restoration of America and the revolution of common sense. It’s all about common sense. First, I will declare a national emergency at our southern border. All illegal entry will immediately be halted and we will begin the process of returning millions and millions of criminal aliens back to the places from which they came. We will reinstate my ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy. I will end the practice of catch and release and I will send troops to the southern border to repel the disastrous invasion of our country. Under the orders I signed today, we will also be designating the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. And by invoking the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, I will direct our government to use the full and immense power of federal and state law enforcement to eliminate the presence of all foreign gangs and criminal networks bringing devastating crime to U.S. soil, including our cities and inner cities. As Commander in Chief, I have no higher responsibility than to defend our country from threats and invasions, and that is exactly what I am going to do. We will do it at a level that nobody has ever seen before.
Next, I will direct all members of my Cabinet to marshal the vast powers at their disposal to defeat what was record inflation and rapidly bring down costs and prices. The inflation crisis was caused by massive overspending and escalating energy prices and, that is why today I will also declare a national energy emergency. We will drill, baby, drill. America will be a manufacturing nation once again, and we have something that no other manufacturing nation will ever have: the largest amount of oil and gas of any country on Earth and we are going to use it, and they use it. We will bring prices down, fill our strategic reserves up again -- right to the top -- and export American energy all over the world. We will be a rich nation again and it is that liquid gold under our feet that will help to do it.
With my actions today, we will end the Green New Deal, and we will revoke the electric vehicle mandate, saving our auto industry and keeping my sacred pledge to our great American autoworkers. In other words, you’ll be able to buy the car of your choice. We will build automobiles in America again at a rate that nobody could have dreamt possible just a few years ago, and thank you to the autoworkers of our nation for your inspiring vote of confidence. We did tremendously with their vote.
I will immediately begin the overhaul of our trade system to protect American workers and families. Instead of taxing our citizens to enrich other countries, we will tariff and tax foreign countries to enrich our citizens. For this purpose, we are establishing the External Revenue Service to collect all tariffs, duties and revenues. It will be massive amounts of money pouring into our treasury coming from foreign sources. The American Dream will soon be back and thriving like never before. To restore competence and effectiveness to our federal government, my administration will establish the brand-new Department of Government Efficiency.
After years and years of illegal and unconstitutional federal efforts to restrict free expression, I will also sign an executive order to immediately stop all government censorship and bring back free speech to America. Never again will the immense power of the state be weaponized to persecute political opponents -- something I know something about. We will not allow that to happen. It will not happen again. Under my leadership, we will restore fair, equal and impartial justice under the constitutional rule of law, and we are going to bring law and order back to our cities. This week, I will also end the government policy of trying to socially engineer race and gender into every aspect of public and private life. We will forge a society that is colorblind and merit-based. As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders: male and female.
This week, I will reinstate any service members who were unjustly expelled from our military for objecting to the COVID vaccine mandate, with full back pay. And I will sign an order to stop our warriors from being subjected to radical political theories and social experiments while on duty. It’s going to end immediately. Our armed forces will be free to focus on their sole mission: defeating America’s enemies. Like in 2017, we will again build the strongest military the world has ever seen. We will measure our success not only by the battles we win, but also by the wars that we end and, perhaps most importantly, the wars we never get into. My proudest legacy will be that of a peacemaker and unifier. That’s what I want to be, a peacemaker and a unifier. A short time from now, we are going to be changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, and we will restore the name of a great president, William McKinley, to Mount McKinley, where it should be and where it belongs. President McKinley made our country very rich through tariffs and through talent. He was a natural businessman and gave Teddy Roosevelt the money for many of the great things he did, including the Panama Canal, which has foolishly been given to the country of Panama after the United States. The United States, I mean, think of this, spent more money than ever spent on a project before and lost 38,000 lives in the building of the Panama Canal. We have been treated very badly from this foolish gift that should have never been made and Panama’s promise to us has been broken. The purpose of our deal, and the spirit of our treaty, has been totally violated. American ships are being severely overcharged and not treated fairly in any way, shape or form., and that includes the United States Navy. And, above all, China is operating the Panama Canal, and we didn’t give it to China, we gave it to Panama, and we’re taking it back.
Above all, my message to Americans today is that it is time for us to once again act with courage, vigor and the vitality of history’s greatest civilization. So, as we liberate our nation, we will lead it to new heights of victory and success. We will not be deterred. Together, we will end the chronic disease epidemic and keep our children safe, healthy and disease-free. The United States will once again consider itself a growing nation, one that increases our wealth, expands our territory, builds our cities, raises our expectations and carries our flag into new and beautiful horizons. And we will pursue our Manifest Destiny into the stars, launching American astronauts to plant the stars and stripes on the planet Mars.
Ambition is the lifeblood of a great nation and, right now, our nation is more ambitious than any other. There’s no nation like our nation.
